Hey all,

Im heading to Wisconsin to see my sister and her family (leaving Thursday). Between now and the time i leave i likely wont be on due to a couple volleyball game nights, etc... Too much going on the next couple days to play, but just wanted to let you know i havent quit the game or anything ;).

Once i get back i should be able to hit it quite a bit harder and level pretty quickly. Pre-grats to Matt who will likely be 80 by the time i get back, and perhaps to Scott and Talia as well!

I just hit 72 lastnight, so at least im making a bit of a dent in the leveling. I tell ya tho, i was hitting like a truck lastnight after i hit 72. Not sure what changed, but even-level mobs are dying much, much faster than they did at 71. *shrugs*... wont complain.

But anyway, take it easy guys. Will catch you all when i get back.

So I played Mez and Bhain with all 3 specs now...

I'm somewhat shocked how rediculously easy it is to play WoW now - not that it was so challenging before, but here are my examples.

Bhain - current state of AOE healing is funny. I did heroic shattered halls, and multiple BGs as resto using one button - wild healing. Most BGs I was over 600k healing using only this spell (nothing else, no cycle, no nothing - just tree shift). It reminded me of the days of spamming flash on the tank in MC. With other specs I was clear cut wrath or mangle cannon - same thing, spam 1 button over and over and see crits for 2-4k damage without the propper gear.

Mez is even worse - CLEARly the highest damage spec is prot, it allows me to get cleave, TC, heroic strike, conc blow, devistate all to 58% crit chance passively. These hit for 500-2000 (cleave bounce damage is pretty funny). Shockwave and shieldslam hit for 1k-4k respectively. The damage sheild and AOE group spell reflection for 5 seconds on a 10 second cooldown is faily entertaining. For the most part I really dont need to fight back, the damage shield hits for close to 100 per hit.

So what will change in the next 10 levels? Historicly, we will all increase in hitpoints by 100-200%, damage will incraese about 50%, and healing about 100%... so what am I left with... The same thing? The concept of siege is drawing, but I'm concerned that I will have more of the same at level 80 :

1. A new set of dungeons, that are made challenging buy numbers, and scripting, and learing where to stand.
2. A new BG to farm.
3. A siege area which almost guarentees a server swap.
4. New sets of faction to grind.
5. New arena cookie cutters to learn.

I logged on War last night - population is still horrible. I'm wondering if something like Guildwars, SWG or heaven forbid everquest would be better than where I feel we are in the current state of MMOness.

Im making an Order character on Badlands to play some as well. A couple old DAoC friends are playing there with a hardcore guild (apparently) they played with for a long time on Igraine after i had left the server they played on.

Anyway, from her words, the guild leader is an "elitest", so that could mean good things for the guild in RvR.

I dont plan on making a permanent jump, but i need something a bit different from time to time. Destruction and the DoK have gotten a bit stale for me, so i think i may roll a Bright Wizzy or Shadow Warrior over there to have some fun with. I messed around with a WH there too lastnight, and at level 1 was #1 in dps in Khaines Embrace.... i had to laugh.

The server population looks really good, and bg's were popping instantly. When i was on it was med/med. Will have to see how it looks tonight in prime time.

My char there will either be Raivin or Syth.. have them both reserved.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT
VS.
MY GIRLFRIEND.
BY TYLER CURRY
- - - -

I've had a lot of time to think about our last conversation, particularly since you ended it by ramming a keyboard through my monitor. I understand that we were both upset at the time and perhaps we said some things we didn't mean. Well, maybe you more than me, considering I mostly just listened to you shriek and cowered in the corner.

I do not think I am, as you so eloquently screamed, "addicted to World of Warcraft." I have, however, made a number of unfortunate mistakes, for which I would like to apologize.

I'm sorry I was so late picking you up from the library. I didn't know they locked the doors at 8, and I'm sorry you had to stand outside alone for two hours. If it makes you feel better, despite its reputation to the contrary, that portion of the city does not have a violent-crime rate significantly above the national average.

You have to consider the position I was in. I was healing for a party with five players in it, all of whom were counting on me to help them defeat Mekgineer Thermaplugg and liberate the Gnomish city of Gnomeregan. Those are the needs of five people, in contrast to just yours, alone. (Note that I'm not even counting the needs of the Gnomish people here, Ashley.) As Spock once famously said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Or the one." You were that one.

Had I looked outside and noticed the freezing rain, I may have made a different decision. Probably not, though.

I'm also sorry I posted those pictures of you on my guild forums, the ones I took when you were passed out. I had no idea they could Photoshop your bra off. That was poor judgment on my part, and I freely admit it. I also should have told you before the chain letter went out. On the bright side, you hated working there anyway.

I also have some things to say that I think you should hear, and, since you forgot to pause long enough for me to speak before your charming little bout of property damage and subsequent stormy departure, I would like to say them now.

Ashley, you have never been willing to accommodate my World of Warcraft needs, or even to compromise the slightest bit.

Last month, when your mother was in a car accident, you called and not only demanded I drive you to the hospital but insisted I stay there to provide "emotional support"—despite knowing full well that I had booked that evening off to fight forest trolls in Zul'Aman. When I suggested you take a cab and that I join you in three to four hours, you unleashed a string of expletives that even my therapist found disturbing. You also refused to wait until we finished off the eagle boss, the one who drops the helm piece I have been trying to get for months.

For the record, she turned out fine anyway. Many paraplegics lead rich and rewarding lives.

Also, what you stumbled upon me doing with that Level 64 blood elf in the back room of the Silvermoon City Inn was neither "sick and perverted" nor "cheating on you." We were role-playing. That I called you by her character's name later that evening was just a weird coincidence. I do not wish your body looked like that. You and I both know that it's physically impossible for humans to have those proportions, at least while retaining all of their internal organs.

However, in the midst of your raging diatribe, sandwiched between the curses and the flailing limbs, you made some very good points. In fact, the words you spoke about commitment, loyalty, and "being there when someone needs you" have sort of inspired me.

Ashley, when I gave you that ring and pledged to spend my life with you, what I didn't mention was that, eight months prior, in the Level 10 quest "For the Horde," I had already pledged eternal fealty and service to Warchief Thrall.

Now, with the gates of Ahn'Qiraj opening and the threat of the Silithid invasion looming over Azeroth, the call has gone out for all able-bodied members of the horde to band together in the great war effort. An event like this only happens once in a server's life, and I cannot honorably abandon my online brethren in this hour of need. I understand that you need me to be there for you, but, Ashley, the truth is, right now, the horde just needs me more.

I got to lead 2 large scale raids this weekend..

Saturdays raid started with Xayth and I, and progressed to 1.5 full warbands. We roled over all 3 zones and took all BOs and then reroled back over 2 zones and took all the towers (we were 2 towers away from taking all the t3 objectives in game!). We also had multiple defenses and pushbacks from the enemy.

I was hopeing to repeat on Sunday, but despite having similar numbers, and actualy higher level tanks, the raid was unable to pull off anything (excepted unpopulated BOs), especialy keeps. I actualy tried to sort things out before I lost patients and had to tell multiple people that they sucked really bad and needed to go backto the BGs before coming out in open world PvP.

Response to both raids was very positive actualy.. Plenty of tells coming in asking for advice, and guild recruitment across the board. I actualy had 5 people over both days that asked to join SMD because of the raids (lol).

Choices...

So I'm quickly approaching T4, and I've been getting steady world Rv invites with in 10 minutes of logging on. It's quite enjoyable - actualy it's what I have been looking for in a game for a long time. It's allowed progression though raid level PvE/PvP hybrid. The looting system is fair for the most part.

So here is the question..

SMD (current guild) is heavily into BG/Scenario running. Which is fine, but if there is world option, it's much more fun and more rewarding. The next thing is that SMD is refusing to join any guild alliances, which sucks, as there is really no way aside from alliance to quickly communicate whats happening in world PvP (only exception is tells from friends). Flip side is SMD is the highest level guild on the server- giving access to crafting mats and the whatnots of having a high level guild.

thoughts?

Madcoil are you still playing on Wasteland? I've looked for you a few times.

Digging both these classes....

My WH is on Wasteland - named Mezth, been playing him when no one is on. Stealth is well done in this game, so much better then camelot (which has been the base for all over stealther mechanics in the last 10 years). The lore of this character is the best of any MMO I have played. This server (BTW) sucks, but it's kind of cool to play on a suck server. In the scenarios I'm getting 2x the DPS of the next person - kind of funny.

Shammy is awesome, again a very unique mechanic. I took him and joined SMD, and got spots for anyone else that is a JG friend. They guild should of hit level 15 last night - upgraded standard and crafting mats!

If anyone is interested that is not playing WH, shoot me a message and I we can meet up in game, the casual/hardcore style of the game is really nice for people that don't have TONS of time to devote to the game.

Ok, so the last few times ive played ive been pretty bored just due to how few people we have playing. I ran open world RvR with a couple guilds the other day, and had a blast. Definitely the way to level Renown is keep defense.... insane how fast lvl 15-16 went.

Anyway, i need to do something about my boredom, or im not going to last in WAR. I either need to join a large (active) RvR guild in Destruction, or make a change and roll Order to play with an old RP guild from DAoC Nimue (Hib). Either option will do, the first being the easiest of course.

Im going to leave the guild tonight we joined on the weekend Mez. Just a heads-up, then im going to tag along with some other guilds to get to know some players. Perhaps i will find what im looking for. Blackfang Brotherhood has some old friends from DAoC, however one of the officers is an ex-Hrafn, and that wont work for me for obvious reasons. The guild leader didnt want to let me in due to a Hrafn officer being present and ending up pulling the wool over his eyes in terms of my identity. Very respectable, but sucky none-the-less =).

Anyway, WAR rocks, but its 10x more fun with large numbers (or so im finding...).
